dead afternoon
10:19 pm / 13.09.04

a dead moment

and you're smiling

like a cat in the window

you're smiling

death came and you didn't care

with all the insects crawling around

you didn't care that i was gone

a dead moment and I'm forced to smile at the lines you gave me

the digs you dug from me

the words you sliced into me.

a dead afternoon bringing dead memories that i can only hope to forget.

forget them

in a few moments I'll forget the dead

and dying

I'll ditch the cold and the crying

and step back here to these

warm evenings

that were made for my sinuses.

dead afternoons are followed by

warm evenings
