i wrote this in my journal today.
eventually,
they forget your face
and the way you smell,
and your eyes,
and everything about you.
They dont remember your laugh
or the advice you gave them
or the small moments when you smiled
or held them while they cried.
they forget the music you listened to
and what color you painted your toe nails
they forget your favorite candy bar
and what you like to dip your chicken nuggets in.
they cant remember which trees you
liked to watch change in the fall
and who you admired the most
they forget the curves in your handwriting
and the stupid phrases that you used
in your everyday speech
they forget you
they forget about every inch of your body
and all of who you were.
